CUPS Driver Only Installation and Configuration instructions
------------------------------------------------------------

This document contains instructions on how to install and
configure the PTT CUPS (Common Unix Printing System)
drivers into an existing CUPS installation.

** Version: 1.0
Please reference this version number for all related issues.

** Installation Procedure:
 For Serial/USB/LPT/NET Ports:
 copy file rastertorp600    to /usr/lib/cups/filter
 copy file rp600.ppd        to /usr/share/cups/model
 Then restarting CUPS

Note:
This procedure assumes that CUPS was installed as per its default
script.  If CUPS was installed otherwise, the directory paths
may vary slightly. 

** Configuration Procedure(For example:FC8):
a. Navigate to http://localhost:631 via Netscape Navigator

b. Click on the link that reads "Administration"

c. Click on the link that reads "Add Printer"

d. Fill in the Name, Location, and Description fields as desired.
The text entered into the name field is used to reference the
printer being configured from various applications (such as the
lpr command).
Click on the link that reads "Continue"

e. Choose the port that the printer is connected to from the
choice box.

if Serial interface printer ,the port is Serial Port #1;
if Parallel Interface printer ,the port is LPT #1;
if USB interface printer ,the port is PTT XXX(U)1 USB #1;
if Ethernet printer ,the port is Internet Printing Protocol(ipp);
Click on the link that reads "Continue"

     Note: XXX(printer name) with USB interface must be printer mode.
     Note: When using serial port,please type "chmod a+rwx /dev/ttyS0" to change its property.The name of the Serial device may be:ttyS0,ttyS1,ttyS2.....

f. Select "PTT" from the Make box.
Click on the link that reads "Continue"

g. Choose the model of printer being installed (for example:PTT XXXX CUPS v3.10(en))
Click on the link that reads "Add Printer"

h. When prompted for the User ID and Password, enter a User ID
for the Linux system that has administrative rights (or root
not other user).

i. Use drier to achieve print out

j. If want Config the printer ,Click on the link that reads "Printers"

k. All installed printers will now be listed.  Find the printer
just installed and click on the link that reads "Set Printer OPtions".

l. Click on the link that reads "Continue".
This saves all aspects of configuration, applying them to all subsequent print requests.
